Tablets occupy a middle ground when it comes to electronic devices. They are the type of device we can live without, but are great to have if you have one. They aren’t usually as essential to us as our smartphone or laptop would be, but can often cost as much as either, without even fulfilling as many requirements. However, the Apple iPad has proven to be very popular with various users, from students, to artists and business owners. We will look at why many of the latter seem so enamoured with the iPad for their businesses.
1) They have an abundance of business-friendly apps
Accounting apps? Check. Restaurant PoS systems? Check. Meeting room booking systems? Check. You name it and the iPad probably has an app servicing a business’ need. If they don’t, then you would probably have a great idea on your hands! The iPad’s portability and reliability make it the premium choice for many and as with pretty much all Apple products, they just work.
When creating an app for Apple’s App Store, developers are required to adhere to strict coding guidelines and if these are not met, they simply will not make it onto the store. By having Apple vetting all the apps in its store, this improves the overall quality and the user experience, something they have made a top priority for their business. Businesses will cherish this reliability and efficiency as dealing with technical problems are the last thing they will want to deal with.
2) Apple has great support
Applecare coverage on their products mean that you can very quickly get a repair or replacement if your devices break or fail. For technical support, they have a hotline that can help you remotely with almost any issue.
As Apple makes both the hardware and the software, there are much lower technical failures than say a Windows or Android device, and if you do encounter an issue, there is only one place you know you need to go to get it fixed. With other brands where the physical device and the software are made by two different companies, this often leads to issues where it is not so clear who is responsible or qualified to repair what.
3) On-the-spot presentations
Bringing out an iPad for an impromptu sales pitch could make or break a sales opportunity. The sheer portability and sleekness of an iPad means you won’t have any qualms about carrying it around as you would a notepad. If you are required to show a client updates on their work, or a potential investor your finances, pulling out an iPad with these ready within seconds would surely help. Apple’s Keynote is great for creating simple but impressive presentations that are sure to wow viewers.
